A major connection between Gatsby, Raisin in the Sun and Death of a Salesmen was the importance of money in pursing the American Dream. The one who had the most money was the closest to achieving their American Dream. Gatsby was the one who had the most and the one who used his wealth to strategically positioned himself to achieve it. Due do the great importance of money in the classic American literature we read this year, I thought it was necessary to take a survey of the class to determine if money is still an obstacle and weather or not it was still a significant part of our culture and the American Dream. I was not to surprised by the results! Take a look, money is still a very important and influential part of our society.
